We educate across the lifespan ...
Saint Ann's parish religious education provides support, education, and faith development for our public school children in kindergarten through eighth grades. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist programs are held for those in second grade. Confirmation preparation begins in seventh grade and is a two-year program. Call or email Gary Maccaroni at 609-882-6491, ext 116, for more information.
PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
The Church of Saint Ann’s religious education/faith formation programs embraces parents in their role as the primary teachers of their children’s faith. Our task is to help each person develop and nurture their personal relationship with God and encourage their participation in the life and mission of the church and in living their faith in the world. We offer several programs to meet the needs of families and support them in this role.
PREPARATION AND FORMATION OF SACRAMENTS
The Church of Saint Ann partners with parents, Saint Ann School, and area private schools in the preparation of their child’s/teen’s celebration of the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Children in second grade prepare to celebrate the Sacraments of First Reconciliation (January) and First Eucharist (May). Sacramental preparation includes a day of reflection (retreat) prior to the celebration of the sacraments.
Our Religious Education Program and Generations of Faith run from September through May.
Generations of Faith is an intergenerational faith formation alternative to the traditional classroom setting. This program seeks to involve the entire family in the ongoing process of becoming a Christian. Generation of Faith classes are held on Saturday mornings 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or Sunday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In addition to the many offerings provided, there are other opportunities for adults to grow in their knowledge, understanding, and practice of the Catholic Faith, such as retreats, scripture study, seasonal events, small faith-sharing groups, and the parish media center resources, periodicals, and pamphlets.
See the website and bulletin for a listing of events.
